Rising of Lake Level

On February 9, 2004, the current lake levels were authorized by the Circuit Court for the County of Gladwin. The Summer level, between April 15th and October 31st is set at 814.7 feet above sea level. The Volunteer Operations Team installs wooden boards (Flashboards) in the spillway bays (1-10) in order to achieve the summer level by April 15th. The automation at the dam maintains the level through a set of lake level sensors at the dam and 2 sluice gates that open and close based on the recorded lake level and an algorwthm programmed to open and close the gates as necessary. Specific questions can be directed to info@wigginslake.org.
